General information about PVC Root-barrier Membranes
Reliable protection for roof structures
Roots can penetrate through conventional roof sealing materials. Consequently, a high-quality root-barrier membrane must be laid in order to protect the building fabric.
These membranes are made of soft PVC and should be at least 1.00 mm thick. Even if root growth is very aggressive, a professionally installed root-barrier membrane can provide long-term protection against damage to the roof structure. For ease of laying, PVC root-barrier membranes can be welded together on site, creating seams that are waterproof and root-proof.
If the roof sealing used is root-proof, then no additional root-barrier membranes are required.
