General

With PEGAFLOR, safety surfaces can be constructed as attractive green areas. This is achieved by combining modern, industrially manufactured elastic layers with the latest generation of near-natural synthetic turf.

The elastic layer underneath the synthetic turf guarantees the certified level of fall protection, and the synthetic turf itself is hardly distinguishable from natural grass in terms of appearance and feel.

Low-maintenance and highly resilient fall protection

In contrast to natural grass, a PEGAFLOR synthetic turf safety surface is extremely resilient and requires very little maintenance throughout its years of service.

Even during rain or in sub-zero temperatures, PEGAFLOR remains dry and usable and loses none of its good fall protection properties.

PEGAFLOR fall protection surfaces consist of two components:

the elastic base layer
the artificial turf on the top.

Installation

The elastic base layer

The base of the synthetic turf system is an elastic layer made of closed-cell polyethylene foam (PE). The material is highly permeable, allowing rainfall to drain away reliably. The thickness of the layer is determined by the required fall height – fall heights of up to 3.00 m are possible (tested to DIN EN 1177:2018).

Synthetic turf without infill

Once the base is complete, synthetic turf optimized for the application is installed on top. These turf types feature long fiber bundles combined with short, curled support fibers. This construction creates a natural look as well as a dense, stable turf structure, making infill with granulate or sand unnecessary.

Full-surface bonding

For lasting safety, the elastic layer and synthetic turf are fully bonded together at the edges. The individual synthetic turf rolls are laid edge to edge at the seams and bonded to one another, creating a seamless, homogeneous, and safe safety surface.
