Earthworks & foundations

Earthworks are engineering works carried out in and with granular soils, i.e. the movement of earth by means of excavation and filling. Earthworks are one of the cornerstones of civil engineering and form the basis for other fields of construction. Foundation engineering comes under the heading of earthworks and includes all works concerning the subsoil. In addition to the actual construction works, this includes the design and calculations, which are based on soil mechanics.

Earthworks are of great importance for road and traffic route construction, railway construction, water engineering, landfill and tunnel construction. Professional earthworks require good preliminary construction design, a soil investigation and, depending on the complexity of the project, also a stability analysis. Typical earthworks include embankments, dams, ditches, excavation pits and backfill as well as suitable measures for improving the subsoil, such as soil replacement and soil improvement using suitable construction materials such as geosynthetics. Separating and filtering non-wovens as well as geogrids, woven fabrics, sealing membranes, drainage membranes and erosion control mats are widely used.

drainagematten
Earthworks & foundations
BEDRAIN Drainage Mats
BEDRAIN Drainage Mats comprise a three-dimensional random arrangement of polypropylene (PP) monofilaments. They are used for drainage, as surface drainage systems, in green roofs, for foundation wall protection, in landfill sites and in tunnel construction.
Hangbefestigung Matten
Earthworks & foundations
BEMAT Erosion Control Mats
BEMAT erosion control mats are three-dimensional non-woven mats made of randomly arranged polypropylene (PP) monofilaments. As the vegetation starts to grow, the mats prevent erosion channels from forming, fix the soil in place and secure it against washing out.
Kokos_Jutegewebe
Earthworks & foundations
COCONUT-FIBRE MATS and JUTE-FIBRE MATS
COCONUT-FIBRE and JUTE-FIBRE are natural erosion control mats. The grid structure made of 100% natural fibers ensures safe and durable vegetation on embankments and in shore zones. Unwanted soil erosion by wind and water is effectively prevented.
Woven geotextiles
Earthworks & foundations
BEFORCE Woven Fabrics
Since BEFORCE Woven Fabrics combine the functions of separating and reinforcing in a single geosynthetic product, they offer a cost-effective solution when it comes to creating a stable foundation for bound and unbound base courses.
Geogitter Begrid
Earthworks & foundations
BEGRID TG Geogrid
Geogrids in the BEGRID TG range are made of high-quality polypropylene (PP). They are monolithic, biaxially stretched and knotstif. This structure makes BEGRID TG geogrids extremely robust and resilient.
Gewebte Geogitter
Earthworks & foundations
BEGRID FLEX Geogrids
Woven geogrids made of polyester yarns are used where long-lasting solutions would not be feasible with the classical methods of earthworks, or only at great financial expense. The advantage of BEGRID FLEX geogrids is the grain interlocking of subgrade and fill material
Trenn Vlies
Earthworks & foundations
BETEX TP Non-woven Fabrics
Non-woven fabrics are the archetypal geosynthetic. Depending on the structure and composition of the fabric, they can be used as a filtering, separation and/or protective layer in highway construction, buildings, civil engineering, gardens and landscaping.
Vlies im Straßenbau
Earthworks & foundations
BETEX NW Non-woven Fabrics
BETEX NW Non-woven Fabrics are manufactured from polypropylene (PP) spin fibres. The fabric is mechanically bonded and thermally treated to produce geotextiles that comply with robustness classes GRK 3 to 5.
