Three dimensional design

Compared to standard safety tiles, PEGASOFT makes it possible to create diverse and multi-faceted safety surfaces. Hills, troughs, waves and channels can be created with a gentle, ergonomic design and inclinations of up to 45 degrees, without any unwelcome edges or steps. With PEGASOFT it is also possible to create barrier-free safety surfaces. Wheelchairs and walking aids can be used on these surfaces without any problem at all.

Seamless construction on site

PEGASOFT jointless safety surfaces are installed in-situ by experienced installation teams in accordance with the specifications of the design engineers and clients. The surfaces comprise a highly elastic base and a colour-fast EPDM top layer. PEGASOFT safety surfaces can be installed quickly, cost-effectively and safely on a bound or unbound sub-base layer.

Three dimensional design

The PEGASOFT surface is made of through-coloured EPDM granules and is laid in-situ without any joints or steps. The surfaces therefore have a long service life and optimum properties with regard to use and maintenance. Even vandalism stands practically no chance against them.

Experience of how the surface performs in practice is what really counts, of course. This is where PEGASOFT safety surfaces demonstrate their quality. In practice, the actual service life of the wear-resistant, weatherproof and UV-resistant EPDM granulate far exceeds the warranty period, which makes the investment in PEGASOFT worthwhile in every respect.

The main reason for installing safety surfaces is to protect users from serious accidents. At the same time, the surfaces should also offer endless possibilities for creative architectural design using shape and colour.

Low maintenance

sparen Safety surfaces are often constructed with loose fill material such as sand or bark mulch. Such surfaces require constant maintenance, however, and regular ongoing costs are incurred for the replacement of the loose material.

The maintenance costs for PEGASOFT safety surfaces are comparatively low. Taking into account the total costs over the years, PEGASOFT safety surfaces made of rubber granulate are significantly more economical than loose material. Moreover, the jointless safety surfaces offer a consistently high level of fall protection.

Technical details

Care and maintenance

With the right care and maintenance, PEGASOFT safety surfaces have a very long service life, even in intensive use. Superficial soiling, with soil, leaves or moss, for example, can be easily removed with a broom.

If the dirt cannot be removed in this way, a high-pressure washer with extension lance can be used for cleaning. The lance must be used carefully and be held at a sufficient distance from the surface to avoid causing any damage.

Mechanical cleaning machines must not be used. We also offer professional care and maintenance services, if required.

Tested safety

PEGASOFT fall protection surfaces are laid on site in thicknesses from 30 to 140 mm, for fall heights of up to 3.20 m, and are tested according to the standard DIN EN 1177 “Impact attenuating playground surfacing – Determination of critical fall height”.

Various thicknesses of the PEGASOFT safety surface layer have been tested, following a specified test procedure, to determine the critical fall height. The safety surface must remain below the upper limit of 1,000 HIC (Head Injury Criterion) for the reduction of serious head injuries. The certifications apply only if playground equipment tested according to DIN EN 1176 is used, however.

Fall heights

Tested according to DIN EN 1177:2018 Critical FH (HIC). For total thicknesses of up to 20 mm, a bound sub-base layer is required beneath the safety surface. For thicknesses of 30 mm and greater, the sub-base layer can be either bound or unbound.
